Rohr Believes Mikels Proposed Move To China Is Not A Bad One

The proposed transfer of Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel to China is not a bad move according to coach of the senior Nigeria national team Gernot Rohr.

Mikel has been frozen out of the first team set up at Chelsea by manager Antonio Conte, in what is his 11th season at the club. A record which makes him the second longest serving player in the team behind captain John Terry.

Despite links with several European teams including some English Premier League team, Mikel is closing in on a move to China as exclusively reported by our sports team few months ago.

” Mikel to China? Not a bad move, he need to play games and you can’t fault the level of the Chinese League any more. You have players moving from Europe to China at every transfer window, so it’s not the worst of all places to play football”.

” It’s unfortunate what has happened to him at Chelsea, but we all know his quality and as a former club coach, I understand some of the intrigues involved in managing players at that level”.
