Red Bulls Salzburg's Sporting Director Christoph Freund has justified the club's decision to extend the contract of talented Ghana U20 genius David Atanga.
The 18-year-old has signed a five-year-contract extension which will keep him at the Red Bull Arena until 2020.
Freund explains why Salzburg decided to sign the Ghanaian youth international on an extension contract.
"David is a player who we want to keep on developing, as we see great potential in him," he said.
Atanga was sent on loan to Liefering in the Austrian second-tier where he scored twice in 13 games.
