Plateau State Government commends Plateau United despite CAF Champions League exit

The Commissioner for Sport on behalf of the Plateau State government has commended Plateau United players for their performance against Esperance in the CAF Champions League.

 

The team from Jos had lost by a goal to nil in the second league round of the preliminary stage of the CAF champions League played at the Rades Stadium in Tunis over the weekend.

 

However, State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Daniel Dung Dalyop have praised the team's bravery during the match.

 

In a press release, the media team of the club revealed that Dalyop who lead the thirty-eight man delegation of the team to Tunisia for the return leg, was particularly impressed with the fighting spirit put up by the boys amidst the controversy of the match.

 

"Am particularly impressed with the maturity of our players. Even those we met after the match at the city and our way out, praised our boys for their impressive performance, the Commissioner said.

 

The Youths and Sports commissioner charged the boys to raise their game and be more careful with match officials in subsequent outing, especially now that they awaits their next opponents in the CAF Confederations cup plays-off coming up in November.

 

He urged the boys to imbibe the spirit of discipline and teamwork in subsequent matches, so as to achieve their target of getting into the group stage of the CAF Confederations cup.

 

He assured that the Rescue Administration of governor Simon Lalong will not relent in supporting the team to enable it achieve its target and urged the players and technical crew to sustain the tempo and even surpasse the it.
