Abedi Pele, Samuel Osei Kuffour, Azumah Nelson, Stephen Appiah and Ibrahim Tanko were some of the high profile sporting dignitaries who attended a lavish New Year party thrown by Ghanaian business mogul Kennedy Agyapong.

The ex Asante Kotoko board member treated his distinguished hosts to a luxurious event at his Airport West residence on New Year’s day.

Also in attendance were high profile personalities from the whole political spectrum in Ghana, legal, business and corporate associates, administrators and entertainers.

The loudest cheer on the night however came at the mentions of the sporting icons that graces the occasion.

The over 400 invited guests cheered the loudest at the mention of former captains of the Black Stars Abedi Pele and Stephen Appiah.

Legal luminaries Samuel Atta Akyea, fellow business moguls- Akoto Bamfo (Sikkens), Samson Deen (African Origin Travels) were also present.

They were accompanied by ex footballers; Anthony Baffoe and Augustine Arhinful.

Ghana’s ambassador to Equatorial Guinea was also present at the occasion.

The ambassador will be very busy in the coming weeks with the start of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations fast approaching.

Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu was also present.

Distinguished members from the media including Metro TV’s Randy Abbey and Paul Adom Otchere (Good Evening Ghana), Kwasi Pratt (The Insight), Graphic Sports’ Felix Abayateye and Maurice Quansah, Raymond Archer (The Enquirer) etc were among a tall were all present.

Guests at the function were treated to quality entertainment and expensive drinks.

Iconic highlife composer and singer Daddy Lumba succeeded in drawing cool and collected ‘Cappuccino’ and his lover Mona Moutrage to do justice to the popular ‘Yentie Obiaa’ track on the dancing floor.

To Lumba, who was performing live for the very first time at a party, the gesture was payback time  to Kennedy Agyapong who has been of tremendous support to him(Lumba), especially for the hit track-‘Yentie obia’ whose video was shot at the venue of the function.

Lumba’s mentee, Kofi Nti and Kwasey Pee backed by the Final Mix Band equally rocked the stage with tracks like ‘Rakiah’, ‘Mehia Odo’.

The occasion was further enriched with the performance of Mugees of R2bees fame.

Mr Agyapong, who went casual mid-way the party, after doing a sleek jacket with a silky tie to match said:  I thank everybody for coming to celebrate with us.”
