Osimhen sees red as 9 men Napoli fall to Roma

It was a bad in the office for Nigeria Super Eagles player, Victor Osimhen who was given the matching orders in his side, Napoli's 2-0 loss against AS Roma in the Italian Serie A on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Victor Osimhen was sent off for two bookable offences after Matteo Politano had been sent off earlier as Napoli fell to a tough defeat away at Roma.

After a barren first half, the hosts' advantage increased after Napoli was reduced to 10 men following Politano's violent conduct in the 66th minute.

The attacker kicked out at Nicola Zalewski and the hosts didn't need long to take advantage when Lorenzo Pellegrini came off the bench to fire home the opener 10 minutes later.

3 minutes to the 90 minute, Osimhen was shown the second yellow card of the day by the centre referee, further compounding the woes of Napoli.

Romeo Lukaku scored after 6 minutes of additional time after the visitors push for an equaliser to end the encounter 2-0.

The win is AS Roma's first win over Napoli in the Derby del Sole since 2019 and it moves Jose Mourinho’s side up from eighth to sixth.

The reverse means that Napoli drop from sixth to seventh in the league table.
