Wolfsbourg-bound Victor Osimhen is down with malaria and so was conspicuously missing when the Flying Eagles spanked Nigeria National League side Shekarau Babes in a test game on Wednesday.
“He has malaria but should be fine in no time,” a top team official said.
The 2015 U17 World Cup MVP and record goal king has also suffered a shoulder dislocation in the Flying Eagles but recovered in time to feature in an U20 AFCON qualifier in Burundi last month.
Seventeen-year-old Osimhen has signed a pre-contract agreement to join German Bundesliga outfit Wolfsbourg in January 2017.
