Senegal coach Alain Giresse is concerned about the lack of facilities in Mongomo, where his team will be based during the Group Stage at the Africa Cup of Nations taking place in Equatorial Guinea from January 17 to February 8, 2015.

The Frenchman said poor accommodation and substandard training pitches could affect the performance of his team during the competition.

“My team will be based in Mongomo, a small lively town with no standard hotel and sports facilities,” Giresse said.

“You have just one training pitch and another one situated about one hour drive from the centre of town, both to be used by four teams.

“I have said it before and I’m saying it again. The hotel they assigned to us is not good. If my players stay in such a place and train on those pitches it could affect their general performance at the tournament. It’s a pity,” he said.

The Teranga Lions share Group C with Ghana, Algeria and South Africa.
