Super Eagles star Ogenyi Onazi has donated balls, football kits, food items and cash worth up to N2 million to the poor in the Igando community of Lagos.

Trabzonspor midfielder Onazi regularly gives to charity whenever he is back home in Nigeria and he brought smiles to the faces of the needy recently at Abaranje Road, Ikotun. According to him, giving to the poor has become part of his life. He added that more importantly, the desire to donate to charity homes was triggered by the legacy of his spiritual father Prophet T.B Joshua, the General Overseer of Synagogue Church of All Nations. Onazi was at the Islamic playing ground along Abaranje road with the donations and advised those around to imbibe the spirit of giving to the needy. “Giving to the poor is the biggest thing that gives me so much joy," Onazi said.

"Things are difficult and you need to give to those who need it if God has given you more. “What we are today is by grace and not by might or power. Like my father in the lord says, giving should be part of our lives and it gives me so much joy when you put smiles on peoples’ faces."
