Okocha Backs PSG To Excel Without Zlatan

Former Super Eagles captain, Austin Okocha, is adamant that Zlatan Ibrahimovic's move from Paris Saint-Germain to Manchester United will not affect the reigning French Ligue 1 champions' chances of doing well both in the league and in the UEFA Champions League.

Ibrahimovic joined PSG in 2012 before moving to Manchester United as a free agent on a one year contract.

At PSG, Ibrahimovic won four Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France and three Coupe de La Ligue.

In an interview with Surface magazine, Okocha, who signed for PSG in 1998, however advised that the club need to continue on the set target without Ibrahimovic, positing that they can be even better without their all-time leading goalscorer.

"He (Ibrahimovic) did fantastic work, but I'm not worried. Things will change, and that will no doubt be positive for the club," Okocha said.

"They just have to think carefully about the way that they are going to move the project forward without him, but anyway, Ibra couldn't have played here forever.

"PSG have become a fantastic team that is very close to winning the Champions League. They have the talents required to win it. I'm happy the club has reached such a level."
