NPFL:HEARTLAND, WOLVES AND PLATEAU WIN AT HOME

Heartland, Warri Wolves and Plateau United all won at home in continuation of the Nigeria league on Sunday.

Heartland stopped hard-fighting Sunshine Stars 1-0, Plateau United a snatched a late 2-1 win over Rivers United and Wolves beat Giwa 2-0.

Ifeanyi Onuigbo was the match winner for Heartland when he scored in the 55th minute against Sunshine Stars in Owerri.

Benjamin Turba opened scoring for Plateau against Rivers United after 14 minutes.

However, Chinonso Okonkwo drew Rivers United level 10 minutes from time, before the host team snatched a late winner on the stroke of full time.

Wolves turned back Giwa with goals from John Odumegwu and Godluck Onamado.

Lobi also beat Niger Tornadoes at home courtesy of a late Tony Okpotu penalty.
