NPFL: Plateau United, Katsina United earn wins as Tornadoes hold Pillars in Kano

Katsina United, Plateau United earned comfortable wins while Kano Pillars were by Niger Tornadoes in their matchday 35 Nigeria Premier Football League matches, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Katsina United thrashed already relegated Gombe United 4-0 at the Mohammed Dikko Stadium, Katsina, Plateau United defeated Kwara United 2-0 at the Zaria Road Stadium while Kano Pillars played 1-1 with Niger Tornadoes at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

Michael Ibe started the onslaught for the Changi Boys with a 4th minute goal before Samson Olasupo made it 2-0 five minutes before half time.

Andrew Idoko gave the hosts an assailable lead heading at the end of the first half with the third goal of the day, ending the half 3-0.

Olasupo put the icing on the cake on 71 minute as Katsina United take more points from already fallen Gombe United.

In Jos, Alex Enejoh with a thunderous shot on 29 minute and Barnabas Daniel tap in from a rebound on 92 minute sealed the win for the Peace Boys over the Harmony Boys.

A goal from Rabiu Ali two minutes later after an own goal by Ismail Nasir on 47 minute had given Niger Tornadoes saw the match in Kano end 1-1.

The wins for Plateau United and Katsina United take them 5th and 6th position on the log while Kano Pillars remain 9th.
