Nigeria Set To Lose Another Sensational Talent To Austria

Published on: 11 July 2016

So soon after hooking the Nigerian-born duo of David Olatokunbo Alaba and Rubin Okotie for their national team, Austria are again in the hunt for another youngster from Africa’s most populous nation, as they seek to lure new signing at SV Ried, Marvin Egho.

While Alaba continues making waves for Bayern Munich of Germany and Okotie is a sensation with Beijing BG of China, they are both integral parts of Austria’s national team, with Egho now set to follow their trail.

This is sequel to reports that Egho is set to do better than a fourth Nigerian-born player, Mainz 05 of Germany striker, Karim Onisiwo, who narrowly missed Austria’s squad for the 2016 European Championship after making his debut against Switzerland in a friendly last November.

The 22-year-old Egho has represented Austria’s under-21 national team three times and is already touted as one of the top talents in Bavarian country.

The Vienna-born striker spent his formative years at SC Wiener Neustadt, then had spells with SR Donaufeld Wien, SK Rapid Wien, Admira Wacker and SC Wiener Neustadt before his recent move to SV Ried.
