Chairmanship aspirant in the 2016 Anambra State Football Association elections, Olisa Aniuno, has petitioned the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the sports minister following the controversial manner in which the May 3 elections were conducted.

In the petitions to the NFF (addressed to the general secretary) and the sports minister which has been exclusively obtained by AfricanFootball.com, Aniuno prayed for the entire elections to be cancelled.

Also petitioning the sports minister, is Odi Ikpeazu, who was contesting to be a member of the Anambra State FA.

It will be recalled that AfricanFootball.com had broken the news of the ‘secret elections’ which held on Tuesday May 3, instead of the Wednesday May 4 date that was announced by the NFF and the normalisation committee charged with conducting the elections.

As a result, Ifeanyi Ubah emerged as the new chairman of the Anambra State FA in controversial circumstances, which has now prompted other aggrieved aspirants to petition the NFF and the sports minister for the cancellation of the entire process.
