New York Red Bulls coach Jesse Marsch has denied reports Ghanaian striker Abdul Aziz Yusif is set to undergo trials at the club this week.

The former Asante Kotoko player is currently a free agent following the termination of his contract with Egyptian club Smouha.

Aziz was reported to being on his way to the US to begin trials with New York Red Bulls.

But coach Jesse Marsch says no trials have been set for the 23-year-old even though he confirmed the club’s interest in the Ghanaian.

"The kid Aziz we know of but – we're familiar with him and we've looked at him but there's but no discussion about him coming here yet," he said.

"Yet." He was - and might still be - on the team's radar.”

RBNY have been linked to signing Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng.
