Goalkeeper’s trainer of the Black Stars Nassam Yakubu, has reiterated Adam Kwarasey would be welcomed back into the Black Stars if he decides to return to the team one day.

Kwarasey, is gradually finding his feet in the MLS with Portland Timber but has yet to feature for the Black Stars since being replaced by Fatau Dauda in Ghana’s second group game against Germany.

The Norwegian born Ghanaian accused then coach of Black Stars Kwesi Appiah of kotowing to pressure from some members of the playing body to replace him in the game against Germany.

Kwarasey also questioned the credentials of Nassamu Yakubu as trainer of the goalkeeping department after hinting he was part of his demotion.

“He could not look me in the eye and tell me the news that I wasn’t going to play and I felt something was wrong,” Kwarasey told Norwegian reporters after the world cup

The Black Stars have since moved on, with Avram Grant taking over from Kwesi Appiah as head coach of the Black Stars.

The team also recovered from a disappointing world cup campaign to finish second in the just ended Africa cup of nations a massive improvement given expectations were at an all-time low going into the competition.

Despite the significant improvement in finishing second at the AFCON one department that has always divided opinion has been the goalkeeping department.

Kwarasey is reported to have thrown out an opportunity from Avram Grant to return to the team following the Israeli’s visit to the U.S this week.

This would be attributed to the widely reported cracked relationship with Nassamu Yakubu whom he publicly berated in his famous rant after the Brazil debacle.

But the Yakubu who combines the national job with being the trainer for Medeama says he has no problem with 26 year old shot-stopper.

“I do not have a problem with Kwarsey not at all,” Nassamu told Accra based Citi FM

‘”I do not even see where the problem started with. If you are Coach and you use a player in one game and don’t use him for another this is not a problem it just what is best for the team.”

Spanish based Razak Braimah is yet to overly impress whiles Fatau Dauda has just recently returned to competitive action at both national and club level.

But with Kwarasey constantly turning down opportunities to return to the team it is clear the technical handlers have. their work cut out in bringing the best out of what we have at the moment.
