GHANASoccernet.com can confirm that Algeria coach Christian Gourcuff lost his mother ahead of leading Les Fennecs against Ghana on Friday.
Gourcuff’s mother died on Thursday in France as he was preparing his side for their second Group C match in Mongomo.
According to reports, Gourcuff could go to France on Saturday for the burial and final funeral rites before returning for Algeria’s final match on 27 January.
Algeria lead the Group C table following their opening 3-1 win over South Africa.
