Lulu Calls Out NFF Over Falcons’ Allowance Saga

Amidst national outcry over the alleged inability of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to pay the Super Falcons, two weeks after the 2016 African Women Cup of Nations’ (AWCON) triumph in Cameroon, a former president of the football federation, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi, has urged the leadership of the NFF to come out clean and tell the nation the true position of things.

“Nigerians want leaders who are sincere, transparent and truthful; they will be ready to sacrifice.

“I am sure if these girls are made aware of the situation, they would not be crying foul. NFF ought to have come out clear, open up and tell the girls exactly what the true position of the situation was before they went for the tournament, this mess and the embarrassment of the country would have been avoided. The players are willing to play for their country, but they need to be given a clear message and be sure that the message is true,” Lulu counseled.

Also, Lulu appealed to the Amaju Pinnick-led leadership of the football house to always plan properly and carry every actor along before embarking on any project.

He said the football body can still succeed even without enough resources if they plan well.

“Before embarking on any project, you have to plan well, even if you don’t have the resource. During our time, we didn’t have the resource but we were able to achieve results with adequate planning.

“I want to believe that, in future, we should be able to present the truth position of our financial situation and that is what the government is preaching to everybody right now. We can get result with what little resource [we have],” he said.
