Nigeria's Josh Maja' was the protagonist as FC Girondins de Bordeaux’s defeated Grenoble Foot 38 in their match day 32 fixture of the French Ligue 2 on Monday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Super Eagles hopeful scored twice to propel Bordeaux to a 3-0 crucial win which took them second on the log at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux.

Maja opened score in 43 minutes of action after tucking in home the ball from a corner that was deflected towards him.

Zuriko Davitashvili doubled the lead in the 56th minute to help the host be in the driving seat.

In the 64th minute struck a missile from outside the box for his second and 15th goal of the season in the league to seal the win.

Josh who equalled his career-best season and best scoring return for a Bordeaux striker in over a decade was substituted in the 90th minute of the game.

Bordeaux are back up to second place and now 6 games away from what once looked like an unlikely return to the top flight.
