Kevin-Prince Boateng’s ‘bad boy’life has landed him in fresh trouble after he was sacked by Bundeslig outfit Schalke for non-performance.

The German outfit wielded the axe on the troubled Ghanaian on Monday in an episode which has not surprised many.

The career of the 28-year-old has further plummeted after he was sacked from the Ghana camp during the 2014 World Cup for his verbal attack on former coach Kwesi Appiah.

Boateng has always been a troubled player with series of indiscipline acts sparking his dwindling fortunes in the game.

2007: Known as the ‘ghetto kid’, Kevin was known for his arrogance which led to a series of unfortunate incidents at the early stages of his development including a burst up with a colleague in a German U-21 youth camp at the 2007 Toulon Tournament which led to his exclusion from subsequent call-ups .

2010: In the build up to the World Cup, he was again heavily involved in the news for a nasty challenge on then German national team captain, Michael Ballack, which all but ended the latter’s hopes of appearing at his third World Cup in an FA Cup final clash involving his team Portsmouth and Chelsea.

2011: Boateng split from his wife, Jennifer, with whom he has a son shortly after attaining stardom following his impressive form for the Black Stars at the 2010 World Cup.

2011 (Nov 4):  He announced his shock retirement from international duty claiming the “physical demands of playing for both club and country at high levels are taking a toll on his health”. The decision sparked anger among local fans who accused him of using the Black Stars to revive his dwindling career.

2014 (Feb): A damaging picture of Ghana star Kevin-Prince Boateng drinking beer and smoking in the Schalke dressing room emerged in Germany. Boateng, who is a role model of millions of kids on Africa and Europe, was pictured with the ciggie and beer just before he went for a doping test after a Bundesliga game.

2014 (June) : He was sacked from the Ghana camp during the World Cup after a spat with former coach Kwesi Appiah. He was accused of verbally attacking Appiah following the side’s wrecked campaign in Brazil.

2015 (May 11) : Boateng was released by German side Schalke after string of poor performances for the side. He made 18 Bundesliga appearances this season although he has failed to find the back of the net.
