In-form Ghana striker Jordan Ayew has backed Lorient to avoid the drop in the French Lique 1 this season.

The 22-year-old scored his 12th goal of the season for the side as they romped to a 4-0 win over Metz over the weekend to further pull out of the drop zone.

The heavy win has lifted Lorient four places above the relegation zone with two games left to spare and the Ghanaian international is confident of the side’s survival.

"There are two matches left and we have made a big step towards ou survival in the league but it is not all over until it is over,” he told Bein Sports

"We deserve this win and i must congratulate the players, coaches and administration. Now we need one more win to secure our place."

Jordan has featured 29 times for the Les Murlus, scoring six times and providing six assists.
