Newcastle United midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has revealed that he doesn't regret leaving Liverpool, claiming that his new club are 'just as big' as the five-time European cup winners.
Shelvey signed for Newcastle from Swansea in January, completing a £12m switch and signing a five-and-a-half year contract.
Unfortunately, he couldn't help The Magpies avoid relegation, meaning that he now plays in England's second-tier.
The 24-year-old East Londoner "?scored a fantastic free-kick in Newcastle's 2-0 win over Brighton on Saturday, helping Rafa Benitez's side to their third straight win.
After coming through both Arsenal, West Ham and Charlton's academy, Shelvey eventually secured a £1.7m move to Liverpool as an 18-year-old.

But his career took a turn after moving to Anfield, due to his failure to break into the Liverpool starting XI. He was loaned out to Blackpool before agreeing a permanent switch to Swansea, where he went on to become a fans' favourite.
Despite moving from away from Anfield at a young age, Shelvey claims that he has no regrets, especially as he as ended up at Newcastle, who he considers to be at a similar level to Liverpool.

"I don't regret going to sign for Newcastle. It's such a big club to go and play for,"? he told Sky Sports.
"It's a massive club - in terms of size I'd put it on par with Liverpool. It's probably one of the best stadiums that I've gone to play every week at. The fans are just great. They get behind you and you seen last night exactly what they're like."?
After the international break Newcastle will travel to Derby County as they aim to make it four wins on the bounce with a victory over the Rams.
