Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Move to Manchester United Faces Delays Due to Rio 2016

"?Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be delayed in moving to Manchester United after it was revealed that the player wants to represent his country at the 2016 Rio Olympics, according to "?"?reports.

The Red Devils have reportedly offered the towering forward a whopping "?£250,000-a-week deal, which would see him join up with newly-appointed manager Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford next season.

The Swede's contract with current club PSG is set to expire at the end of the month, leaving Man Utd with a free-reign to snap up the enigmatic forward on a free transfer in July.

"?However, negotiations have hit a stumbling block as Zlatan wants to represent his country at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, which takes place in August, finishing after the first Premier League game has kicked off.

Sweden Under-21 coach Hakan Ericson will take charge of the Swedish Olympic side, and with three players over the age of 23 allowed in the squad, Zlatan is widely expected to earn a call-up, especially as the player is relishing the opportunity to become an Olympian.

With the tournament running from August 4th-20th, Zlatan would miss United's pre-season preparations, including a lucrative tour of China.

If Zlatan does get called up to the Olympic Games, it would mark an intense summer schedule for the 34-year-old, with the Swedish star currently preparing for his country's first Euro 2016 encounter against Republic of Ireland on Monday.

The busy summer of international football has not overshadowed Zlatan's incredible final-season for PSG in Ligue 1, where he enjoyed his most prolific to date, scoring 50 goals in 51 games for the Parisian side.
