Premier League clubs desperate for a new goalkeeper have been placed on red alert after Yann Sommer admitted he would be interested in a move to England, the "?Express report.

The 27-year-old shot-stopper currently plies his trade for Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga and he has kept five clean sheets in 32 appearances this season.

Monchengladbach are currently in the midst of a heated battle to secure a Champions League spot but that hasn't stopped Sommer from confessing he is enticed by the prospect of playing in the top-flight of English football.

"I will listen to offers from England" the Swiss international told German newspaper Bild

"I will listen to everything. If something is interesting for the player, it's interesting for the club. If a club makes a great deal for a player from Borussia, Gladbach will not just say no. That's football."

Sommer only moved to Borussia Park from FC Basel back in 2014 and his contract still has three years left to run.

Manchester City have been linked with a swoop for his services as understudy to Joe Hart, with Willy Caballero widely expected to leave in the summer despite his Capital One Cup final heroics.

Jurgen Klopp could also be tempted to pinch the Swiss keeper in order to provide Simon Mignolet with better competition.
