WWE Offer Former German International Tim Wiese an Official Try-Out

Published on: 06 June 2016

Former German international goalkeeper Tim Wiese is well on his way to a wacky old career change, according to a report on "?WWE's official website.

Wiese has been on the professional wrestling circuit for a little while now since his retirement from the game in 2014, and has been given some pretty big news - as he's "?officially been offered the opportunity to train at sports entertainment juggernaut WWE's Performance Centre.

The 34-year-old was capped six times by Germany and will now train in the same place as Hugo Knox (real name Stuart Tomlinson) - who himself was a former professional goalkeeper. Imagine that, two former goalkeepers squaring off in a professional wrestling ring. Weird eh?

Wiese has certainly beefed up in the last few years, and was officially welcomed to the try-outs by 14-time world champion and Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events & Creative, Triple H.

He said: "Tim is tenacious. He continues to be very vocal in his desire to prove that he has what it takes, and he has shown tremendous resilience and determination to create an opportunity for himself.

"This is his break to walk his talk. If all goes well in Florida, he will get his chance in the ring."

Wiese was delighted too, and is gunning to be ready to wrestle in front of his home nation crowd in Germany later this year:

"I have been training hard for this, and I am excited for the opportunity. No matter what it takes, my goal is to be in that WWE ring this November. I want that match!"?
