Willian Reveals 'Great Relationship' With Mourinho Amid Talk of £60m Man Utd Move

Published on: 25 May 2016

Jose Mourinho's move to Manchester United is expected to be tied up and announced by the end of this week, and he could look back to former club Chelsea to make one of his first signings.

"?The Sun report that Brazilian winger Willian - who was crowned Player of the Year at Stamford Bridge last season - could be subject of a British-record £60m transfer bid ahead of the new campaign. Mourinho is reportedly in the market for a right winger and knows Willian well from his days in London.

The 27-year-old, speaking in Los Angeles as he and his international teammates prepare for the Copa America, believes United are getting a very strong manager in Mourinho and he admits he has previously played his best football under the Special One.

He said: "Jose is one of the most successful coaches in the world and Manchester United will be stronger with him as manager.

"I played some of my best football under Mourinho. He is a special coach and I have a great relationship with him. Winning the Premier League with him was one of the highlights of my career. I was sad things didn't work out after that."?

Pressed on the speculation linking him with a reunion however, Willian was quick to point out that he was only concentrating on international commitments for the time being.

He added: "I don't think about that. I'm here on Copa America duty with Brazil and I'm not here to do interviews about other things.

"That is something my agent deals with."

Willian had initially looked set to join Tottenham before signing for Chelsea ahead of them in late August 2013, in the same summer that Mourinho began his second spell at Stamford Bridge.
