Why Watford winger Isaac Success did not is absent from Nigeria's sqaud

Isaac Success' absence from the Nigeria squad is down to a groin injury.

The Watford winger was called up to the Super Eagles' squad for their friendly with Togo and World Cup qualifier against South Africa at the start of June, but reports suggested he asked for three days extra rest at the end of the Premier League season.

That would have seen him miss the first game against Togo before playing against South Africa, however, AllNigeriaSoccer have said that he withdrew due to a groin injury.

Success has not played a minute of football since he came off the bench against Liverpool on May 1 and in total only played 503 minutes for Watford last season.

The report suggest he missed the games with Chelsea and Manchester City due to the niggle and not because he was dropped.

His attitude off the pitch did not sit well with Walter Mazzarri at Watford though, who felt he was unprofessional at times.

In recent days the 21-year-old has been linked with a move to West Ham, with Success' former youth coach saying he'd look for a move if he was not promised more first-team football.
