Trabzonspor manager, Fatih Tekke has praised Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu for his emergency centre-back performance in their 2-1 win over Göztepe, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Onuachu was deployed as a makeshift defender after Trabzonspor was reduced to 10 men and left without recognised defenders.
The Nigerian forward rose to the challenge, producing a disciplined display in the final 20 minutes, including stoppage time.
He recorded 11 clearances and played a key role in securing all three points for Trabzonspor.
"Onuachu is a quality player. He showed great character and professionalism to adapt to the situation," Tekke said.
"We were down to 10 men, no right-back, no central defender. We had to pull him back into defence out of necessity, and he did a great job".
