West Ham to Move for AC Milan Striker Carlos Bacca

"?West Ham United are reported to have made a big money move for AC Milan's Carlos Bacca with the Daily Mail claiming that the East London club have made an offer of £16m for the Colombian, who has only been at the Italian giants for one season.

However, Milan are believed to want £20m to part with the services of Bacca, who scored 20 goals in his first season.

The Hammers would be able to meet Milan's demands financially - the new television deal and their move into the Olympic Stadium has boosted revenue - but it remains to be seen whether the club are willing to spend so much money on a 29-year-old, who is reported to want £60,000 a week after tax, and offers little re-sale value. "?However, Bacca was also prolific at ex-club Sevilla - winning the Europa League twice - and would be an upgrade on the strikers that are already at the club. He also has a decent record at international level, having scored 11 goals in 28 appearances.

If the Colombian was to sign, he would easily be the Hammers' record signing. Currently, that mantle is held by Andy Carroll, who cost around £15m when he signed from Liverpool in 2013.

The striker could take the club to the next level, and help push for Champions League qualification, if they could keep Dimitri Payet and add players of Bacca's quality to one of the strongest West Ham sides in years.
