"?West Ham United target Jonathan Calleri says he is on the cusp of moving to Europe after revealing that he will hold an Italian passport in the very near future.
Italian football site "?Tuttomercatoweb reported that the Argentina striker is set to receive his dual citizenship within the next month and, in doing so, allow Calleri to depart South America and join a club in Europe.
And the 22-year-old confirmed that he would love to head across the Atlantic in search of European football, once he successfully acquires the necessary paperwork.
Calleri said: "In a month or so I should get an Italian passport, to relocate to Europe in September.
"That would be my dream."?
West Ham are keen to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the 2016/17 Premier League season.
The Londoners finished seventh in the league standings last term, just four points off a UEFA Champions League qualification spot.
Manager Slaven Bilic has current strikers Andry Carroll, Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho available to him, but he is looking to bolster his forward line in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Hammers have also been linked with a move for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in recent weeks, but president Jean-Michel Aulas said his prized asset would only depart Ligue 1 if a suitable offer was made before the end of June.
Calleri currently plies his trade with Brazilian outfit Sao Paulo, and has netted eight goals in just 11 matches in the Copa Libertadores since the competition kicked off in February.
Calleri, who has also played for All Boys Buenos Aires and Boca Juniors, was recently called up to Argentina's squad for the Olympic Games due to be held in Brazil between August 5 and August 21.
