"?West Ham have made an inquiry for Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, according to Spanish newspaper "?El Confidencial.
Jose Mourinho, unsurprisingly, is willing to listen to offers for the player, whom he sent to Old Trafford in the first place, and surely won't hesitate to sell him.
Mata arrived at United from Chelsea for a fee of £37.1m back in 2014, following a bit of a rift with the Portuguese boss after he criticised the player publicly on more the one occasion, claiming that his defensive efforts were not up to standard.
Despite being Chelsea Player of the Year for two years running, the 28-year-old found himself strapped to the bench while Mourinho went with Oscar in the No.10 position.
West Ham are interested in signing the player, but should they step that up, they will face stiff competition from La Liga sides.
Valencia are believed to be keen on bringing Mata back to Spain, having sold him to the Blues in 2011, and are closely monitoring the situation at Old Trafford.
Unless Mourinho has a serious change of heart, or philosophy, Mata certainly won't be a United player by the time next season rolls around.
Former Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly has echoed that sentiment, adding that Marouane Fellaini will be sold as well.
"He has some problems because he has Juan Mata, who he didn't want at Chelsea," the Frenchman said via the "?Manchester Evening News.
"I'm sure Fellaini won't be playing in midfield. He has a lot of things to work on."
Desailly also claims that Mourinho wanted to join the Red Devils even before he took over at Real Madrid.
"I was in Mexico with him at a FIFA conference,'' he said. "Remember, when he left Inter Milan to go to Real Madrid?
"At the time, he said he would come back to England. But his plan was to go to Manchester United, not Chelsea.
