"?Arsene Wenger has ruled out a January spending spree despite endless transfer rumours linking players to the club.
Window after window, Arsenal are linked with a host of players, with fans often crying out for a 'world class striker'. With Alexis Sanchez leading the way with 14 goals so far this season, Wenger appears to have found the world class forward that fans wanted; and with a world class goal this weekend, Olivier Giroud deserves some respect too.
"Of course, the return of injured players affects how I look at the transfer window," Wenger "?said.
"Because we have Lucas [Perez], we have [Olivier] Giroud, we have Alexis [Sanchez], we have Welbeck, [Theo] Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is nearly a striker. So we have plenty of options offensively."
Walcott is having a great season with 11 goals to his name whilst Perez already has five in his first season and Chamberlain is having his most productive season for Arsenal so far, with six goals.
Wenger turned his attention to the Arsenal defence and transfer rumours surrounding this area, saying: "Defensively, we are not in the need at the moment."
Shkodran Mustafi returned from injury absence this week whilst Per Mertesacker, Mathieu Debuchy and Kieran Gibbs approach a return to full fitness this month. Santi Cazorla is the only remaining long-term absentee but, returning in February, Wenger feels no need to sign backup.
Julian Draxler, a man seemingly linked with a move to the north London club every single transfer window since the beginning of time, put a temporary end to those rumours by signing for PSG in a deal worth around £35m as soon as the window opened. No doubt he'll be linked with the Gunners again in the summer, though.
With Carl Jenkinson authorised to leave the club this month, a move for a right-back could be on the cards but if Wenger is true to his word, it'll be the only deal of the month for the club as they prepare for the second half of a title challenge.
