Watford Make Bid for West Brom's Saido Berahino Amid Leicester Interest

Watford have made a bid for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino, according to Sky Sports Football.

Three Premier League clubs are believed to have made enquiries concerning the player's availability, with champions Leicester said to be among them.

Jamie Vardy could be moving to Arsenal during the summer, and Claudio Ranieri has considered Berahino a suitable replacement.

The 22-year-old had a stormy season at West Brom following a failed attempt to move to Tottenham Hotspur last summer. The club also rejected a £21m bid from now relegated Newcastle during the January transfer window.

He registered just seven goals in 33 appearances for the Baggies over the last campaign, half of what he scored in the previous season.

Berahino reportedly fell out of favour with West Brom head coach Tony Pulis after Tottenham's £25m bid on deadline day failed to materialise.

Pulis, however, insists that he won't be letting the striker go for cheap, yet with just one more year left on his contract, they run the risk of losing him for nothing, and chairman Jeremy Peace will have to consider breaking ties with the club's academy product.

Watford already have a great striking duo in Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney, but seem to want to add yet another forward to their arsenal.

The Hornets already rejected a £20m bid from Leicester for Deeney, who is the club's captain. Despite their intention to keep the 27-year-old, they are said to be willing to consider selling if a substantially larger sum is offered.
