"?Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has ruthlessly laid into Sunderland's defending once again during his Monday Night Football analysis, following the Black Cats' latest defeat to Arsenal.
In the must-see rant, the former Liverpool captain stated that Moyes' side are a worse team than the Aston Villa side who were relegated last season and could even fail to achieve the infamous 15 points total amassed by the Black Cats in the 2006/07 season.
"There's the Sunderland team that went down 10 years ago with 15 points. This team could beat it," Carragher said after the 1-4 defeat to the Gunners on Saturday, which has left them with two points from 10 games.
"Aston Villa last season had better quality than this side [...] I don't see a bad attitude at Sunderland I just see a group of really poor players who I think would struggle in the Championship."
Carragher dished out some of his strongest criticism to Lamine Kone. The Sunderland defender, who only signed in January from FC Lorient in Ligue 1, was heavily linked with a move away to Everton in the summer but remained at the club after Moyes refused to let the 27-year-old go.
"There's one player on the pitch whose attitude has been nowhere near acceptable and that's Kone at the back," Carragher said.
"Him and Defoe kept them up, Defoe at one end and Kone at the other. He is good enough. He showed that last season but his attitude now is becoming the main problem. As much as he was the solution last season, he's the problem this season"
Kone was at fault for Arsenal's opener on Saturday, allowing Alexis Sanchez to get ahead of him to head in.
