"?Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to offer Harry Kane another new contract that would see him become the highest paid player at the club. It comes after the striker enjoyed an even better season in 2015/16 than in his breakout year, scooping the Premier League Golden Boot.
According to Squawka, Spurs have offered Kane a deal worth £100,000-per-week after bonuses. That's compared to the £35,000 basic salary he currently pockets each week after his last new contract in February 2015.
It is said that everything is close to being agreed, with the 22-year-old set to formally sign the fresh terms after competing at Euro 2016 with England.
Kane was a £40m-£50m target for Manchester United last summer. Those rumours have refused to completely die despite Tottenham's strong insistence they are absolutely not interested in selling, and therefore a new deal will help continue to stave off suitors.
The striker's 25 Premier League goals last season eclipsed the 21 he netted in 2014/15, proving those who labelled him a one-season wonder wrong beyond doubt. His final tally was even more impressive given that he actually did struggled to find the net in the opening weeks of the campaign.
Kane is now on a path to become one of the world's biggest stars in the years to come. A recent study by the "?CIES Football Observatory valued him at £87m, fifth in the world behind only Lionel Messi, Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo and Antoine Griezmann.
A strong Euro 2016 performance for England, for whom he already has five goals in 12 senior appearances, could see his star rise yet further.
