Tottenham Hotspur are interested in acquiring Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj, who is currently preparing for the European Championships with the Croatian national team in France, according to Italian website Calciomercato.
The report claims that La Viola's new director of sport Pantaleo Corvino will meet with the player after the tournament finishes to discuss the 27-year-old's future and that should he wish to leave the club, he would not be sold for a figure less than €10m (£7.9m).
Badelj has been bulwark for Fionentina's midfield, helping the club to a fifth place finish in Serie A, and his performances have not gone unnoticed with several European clubs touted as possible destinations.
His agent, Dejan Joksimovic, revealed to Fiorentina.it that several top teams are interested in his client, and that provided a more lucrative financial package were offered, they would be open to a move.
"It's difficult to say, the player is attracting interest from four top European teams, top teams and which offer much higher salaries, so it'd be hard to say no.
"I have not heard from Fiorentina and I think that there will be no meeting, nothing will happen before the end of the European Championship in France."
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate to add reinforcements to his team, having finished third in the Premier League last season, and particularly given their participation in the Champions League.
The futures of Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason are uncertain and speculation has mounted in recent weeks that the Argentine will entertain offers for the duo.
