"?Recent "?reports claim Tottenham have a verbal agreement in place to sign up and coming Argentina star Jonathan Calleri.
Spurs aren't typically a team that get their transfer business done early, but they may be about to upset that trend if this deal materialises.
The Argentine attacker currently represents Sao Paulo of Brazil, who he joined on loan just at the beginning of this year. The hitman has spent periods at Maldonado in Uruguay and Boca Juniors in his homeland of Argentina - the latter being where he made a name for himself.
The 22-year-old might not be the name first on the lips of Spurs fans when questioned about a new striker, but he is certainly worth being talked about.
The news was initially reported by Brazilian journalist Felipe Mekhitarian via his Twitter feed.
"?"?Boca Juniors bought Calleri from All Boys in Argentina for a mere £165,000 and sold him just one year later to Uruguayan side Maldonado for £8,250,000 - quite the investment by Boca. He netted 21 times in 53 games for Boca, and also assisted a further 11, showing he not only knows where the goal is, but he can spot a pass too.
Since joining Sao Paulo on loan in January, he has scored eight times in ten appearances in the Copa Libertadores.
But don't worry Spurs fans, this does not mean Harry Kane is on his way out, as Calleri can also play as a 'number 10' or even out on the wing, perhaps the replacement for supposedly outgoing Heung Min Son.
Some may already be aware of the wonders this guy can pull off if they have seen this incredible goal.
If the move does eventuate, are we on the brink of witnessing an Argentine invasion of Spurs by fellow countryman and manager Mauricio Pochettino?
