Swansea Striker Alberto Paloschi Agrees to Join Atalanta

"?Swansea City have confirmed that striker Alberto Paloschi will join Serie A side Atalanta on July 1 after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee for the 26-year-old.

Paloschi joined the Swans in January from Chievo Verona for £8m. He failed to make a major impact, however, scoring just two goals in 10 league appearances.

The Italian forward opened up his account against Tottenham in a 2-1 defeat, while he scored the equaliser in Swansea's 2-2 draw with Stoke in April. But other than that, Paloschi has failed to make any other sort of significant contribution.

Since Wilfried Bony's departure to Manchester City in 2015, Swansea have struggled with goals up front.

Bafetimbi Gomis started the season well, but the France international failed to find form throughout most of the Premier League campaign.

Andre Ayew, Swansea's top scorer with 12 league goals, continues to be linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium with the club having already rejected a cash plus player offer from Sunderland back in January. Now with Paloschi's departure to Atalanta, Francesco Guidolin will likely prioritise the signing of a centre-forward this summer.
