Spurs and Arsenal Target Henrikh Mkhitaryan Demanding £4.6m-a-Year to Seal Premier League Switch

Arsenal and Tottenham target "?Henrikh Mkhitaryan is targeting a substantial pay rise should he leave Borussia Dortmund, "?according to reports.

Tuttosport have reported that Mkhitaryan has been offered £3.1m a year by Italian giants Juventus, but his team of advisors are pushing for a larger sum in the region of £4.6m.

The Armenian attacking midfielder is also said to be interesting Chelsea, and has just one year left on his contract and could be available for a lower transfer fee.

Mkhitaryan could be the latest in a line of Dortmund stars to leave the club in recent years, after the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Mario Gotze and more recently Mats Hummels all moved to German rivals Bayern Munich.

He contributed 18 goals and 20 assists in all competitions this year, forming a lethal attacking partnership with Marco Reus and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as Dortmund finished second in the Bundesliga, 10 points behind winners Bayern Munich.

A move to Tottenham could see him become their highest paid player, although any potential deal could be at risk of falling through due to the Armenian's wage demands.

Should he opt for a move to Spurs' North London rivals Arsenal, he could be set to earn more than striker Olivier Giroud (£3.1m), but less than attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil (£7.2m).

Whilst Spurs are yet to confirm any transfer dealings, Arsenal secured the signing of Swiss international midfielder Granit Xhaka in May for a fee around £30m.

Mkhitaryan previously plied his trade with Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine, and has been named Armenian Footballer of the Year on six occasions.
