Spanish Giant's Offer for Paulo Dybala Is Bluntly Rejected by Juventus

La Liga champions Barcelona have had an offer for Argentine striker Paulo Dybala knocked back by Juventus, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (H/T Spanish publication "?Marca).

Juventus are keen on signing the striker to a new contract to ward off potential suitors, but Barcelona are desperate to land the player, even after having an €80m offer turned down by both Dybala and Palermo in 2015.

"His career at Juventus has only just begun," Gustavo Mascardi, the man who helped the player get to Europe, said last June.

"As for his future, the transfer market can offer a lot of temptations, but Paulo has shown himself to have clear ideas.

"It's true that in recent months Barcelona were interested in La Joya, I think they made a bid of double what the Bianconeri paid.

"But the player's first consideration was that it was more important to consolidate his experience at a club which is giving him the opportunity to succeed at the highest levels."

Juventus secured Dybala's services for €40m, and he went on to score 19 goals in 34 matches in his first season, the second highest goal tally in Serie A. They are said to have brushed away Barcelona's advances with little to no consideration, as they aren't ready to entertain any talks of losing their attacking gem.

However, Mundo Deportivo claim the player has told Real Madrid president Florentino Perez that he wants to play for Los Blancos.

Speaking on his contract situation after Juve's Italian Super Cup loss to AC Milan last month, he said: "I haven't signed anything yet. We will see what happens."?
