Slowly But Surely Vincenzo Montella Is Guiding AC Milan Towards Success Again

Published on: 25 December 2016

After AC Milan's 2016 Supercoppa Italiana victory over Juventus, manager Vincenzo Montella looks to be taking the Rossoneri back to its 'golden days'.

AC Milan are still celebrating the 'upset', in when they defeated the 32-time Serie A champions Juventus on penalties after a 1-1 draw. The club's manager, Vincenzo Montella looks to be the right man for the job as the Milanese side hasn't claimed any silverware since winning the 2010/11 Serie A season.

This is the 29th trophy won in President #Berlusconi's era. Not bad eh?

To win against Juve twice in 2016 must be a great satisfaction for the team and the manager as it indicates that Italian football is becoming competitive again. Montella has created a positive vibe amongst the players, staff, and fans which has now resulted in winning a prestigious title.

Montella's recent success extends to the league, with Milan currently sitting in 5th place with 33 points and one game in hand.

Montella has been praised by Italian critics and football analysts for using youth in his squad instead of going on shopping sprees in the transfer windows.

He has gotten the best out of players like 17-year old Gianluigi Donnarumma, Alessio Romagnoli, and Manuel Locatelli. With giving these young players experience, it will boost their confidence playing within football's most tactical league.

Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has been a strong influence in keeping clean sheets for the Rossoneri and acting as an intimidating force to opposition strikers. The young Italian has already played for the Italian national team, showing that more than simply Milan are benefiting from Montella's faith in youth.

Vincenzo Montella has ensured the club would win a game in any fashion, helping to create that winning mentality - indeed, winning games has become a common thing for the Milanistas this season and Montella has satisfied the fans, most of whom have been heartbroken in recent years.

2017 looks to be a promising year for the Rossoneri, as Montella is targeting a Champions League spot - and what's more, although Juventus are leading Serie A, Montella's young looking outfit can fight the Bianconeri for the Scudetto title race as they have beaten them on two occasions this season.
