Slaven Bilic Hints at Another Attempt to Sign Milan Striker in January Transfer Window

"?West Ham United are reportedly eyeing up a January transfer move for AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca in order to bolster their attacking options following a poor start to the season.

Despite winning two games on the bounce in the Premier League to lift them five points clear of the relegation zone, before that the Hammers had gone six games without a win, scoring just 19 goals in their opening 17 matches this campaign.

In order to combat this disappointing statistic, it is understood that, according to "?ESPN, coach Slaven Bilic's side are keen to reignite their interest in the Colombia international following several failed attempts for the unsettled striker.

Bacca has not featured regularly in manager Vincenza Montella's lineup thus far in the Serie A campaign, and would be a welcome sight in East London after the failed loan-signing of Simone Zaza from Juventus.

Speaking of the potential signing, Bilic said: "Maybe. We tried. He was one of our targets in the summer. It was in the papers and it was true.

"But then the deal didn't go through because of a few things and he decided to stay at Milan. He is still there. He doesn't play a lot which is also an issue."

Should this deal not go through, the Hammers are reportedly also keen to bring back former goalscorer and current Sunderland forward Jermain Defoe after an impressive spell with the Black Cats.
