In a bizarre set of circumstances, Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega has confirmed his impending switch to Italian Side Inter Milan, despite neither club confirming that a deal has been made, "?Goal.com reports."?
The Argentinian's contract at the La Liga club expires this summer, and it had been expected that the player would join the Nerazzurri on a free transfer when the window opens.
Despite both parties - Sevilla manager Unai Emery and Inter chief Javier Zanetti - admitting that a transfer fee for the player has been agreed upon, there has no been confirmation or release from either side suggesting that the move is concrete, with certain aspects of the deal yet to be discussed.
The 27-year-old has reportedly already said goodbye to his team mates and fans following his move to the Serie A giants, admitting that it was tough after helping the side to their third consecutive Europa League crown after beating Liverpool 3-1.
"I've already said goodbye to the people at Sanchez Pizjuan party."
"I've made my mind about leaving, it was hard, but opportunities are there to be taken."
Asked specifically if his next destination would be Inter Milan, the player replied: "Yes, we've talked and it's been made official in Inter. I have to wait, but I'm focused on the national team."
The midfielder endured a successful season for Sevilla, scoring eight goals in 43 appearances and finishing seventh this season, as well as playing a pivotal role in helping his team mates secure the Europa League cup in Basel.
His season ended on a low point however, after being sent off in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona in the last minutes of stoppage time, which they went on to lose 2-0 in extra-time.
