"?Spanish side Sevilla have denied reports that they attempted to sign Manchester City winger Jesus Navas over the summer.
Navas joined City in 2013 from Sevilla, and, despite registering an impressive amount of assists during his time at the Etihad, he has only scored four league goals for the club, with all of those strikes coming during his first season.
He's made three appearances for City this season, but looks set to figure behind the likes of David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Nolito this year.
Navas was linked with a return to his former club Sevilla, with his appearances at City expected to be limited this season, but club president Jose Castro has dismissed these claims.
"We have not had contact during the summer despite what was said,"? Castro told Cadena COPE "?as reported by Manchester Evening news.
"It's logical that if he leaves City one day he wants to return here, but this year there has been no interest or negotiation."?
Navas was a favourite of former City manager Manuel Pellegrini, and has so far racked up 144 appearances in all for the Manchester club, but, with the signing of German starlet Leroy Sane possibly limiting Navas' first team appearances for upcoming seasons, a move away from Pep Guardiola's side for Navas could come sooner rather than later.
It's understood that Sevilla will monitor Navas' situation at City, and could make a move for the Spain international should he fall behind in the pecking order at the Premier League club.
