Scott Dann to Undergo Scan on Foot After Coming Off in FA Cup Final

Published on: 21 May 2016

"?Scott Dann will undergo a scan on Monday morning to discover the full extent of the injury he suffered against Manchester United in the FA Cup final on Saturday,"? South London Today report.

Dann reluctantly trudged off the pitch just before full-time after injuring his right-foot and he was replaced by Adrian Mariappa.

The commanding centre-back was then forced to watch helplessly from the sidelines as the Eagles' hopes of lifting their first major trophy were shattered by Jesse Lingard's emphatic volley in extra-time.

The 29-year-old was bitterly disappointed to leave Wembley empty-handed, but is now hoping his injury isn't too serious.

"I'll have to get a scan on Monday" Dann told reporters. "Fingers crossed it isn't too bad - but it didn't feel too great when I did it."

"Sometimes the decision [to come off] is taken out of your hands. It is a massive occasion and a lot riding on the game. With two minutes to go you are trying to get through to the full-time whistle and see how it was - maybe strap it up if it wasn't too bad.

"In hindsight it might have been the best decision but when you're on there you don't want to come off. It's not an easy decision to take."

Dann will now be hoping to recover from injury quickly before Alan Pardew rallies the troops for pre-season as Palace aim to improve on their 15th-placed league finish.
