"?Schalke have publicly confirmed that an agreement is in place to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nabil Bentaleb, with only completion of the final paperwork currently standing between the Algerian international and the loan move to Germany.
"We have an agreement with Spurs. We expect him to participate in training this afternoon," Schalke chief executive Christian Heidel said of Bentaleb on Thursday morning.
"We are just waiting to sort the final paperwork to confirm the deal."
Head coach Markus Weinzierl added, "Bentaleb is 100% fit, but we need to be patient and give him a little time to integrate into the team."
Heidel further commented that 21-year-old Bentaleb, who was handed his Spurs debut by Tim Sherwood back in 2013, was in Germany to complete his medical last week before briefly returning to England.

Heidel also confirmed that a deal for ex-Spurs midfielder Benjamin Stambouli will soon be completed as well after the Paris Saint-Germain player underwent his Schalke medical.
"He has just had his medical. We will wait for the results and we are positive that everything will be in order," the club chief said. "Our new recruits know each other from their time together at Spurs. They will good additions to the team."
There will, however, be no third Spurs connection following rumours of interest in South Korean winger Son Heung-min after his debut season at White Hart Lane disappointingly tailed off after a strong start.
"Heung Min Son is an excellent footballer. We know him from his time at Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen but he has nothing to do with us," Heidel stated.
