Sami Khedira Reveals What He Thinks Ancelotti Plans to Do With Mario Gotze

Published on: 30 May 2016

"?German international midfielder Sami Khedira doesn't believe new Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti will look to sell Mario Gotze this summer, according to "?Sport Bild.

Gotze has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool over the last few weeks, given he was unable to find himself a regular place in the Bayern first team last season under Manchester City-bound coach Pep Guardiola. Former club Borussia Dortmund are also reported to hold interest in the 23-year-old.

Ancelotti is to replace the Spaniard in Bavaria as he moves on to Manchester, but Khedira - who worked with Ancelotti at Real Madrid - doesn't see the Gotze leaving Bayern when Ancelotti takes control.

He said: "Mario has experience already, despite his young age. Of course, he definitely needs to learn, and he still needs to develop his personality. But I can imagine no circumstances that Carlo will say: 'No, I do not want to have him.'"

Looking back on his days working with Ancelotti at Real Madrid and the wishes of then Real forward Gonzalo Higuain, he added: "Gonzalo Higuaín wanted to leave the club at the time, but Ancelotti had done everything to keep him. Generally, he has never said to a player that he should leave.

"Only if he says a face that he did not want to work with him: Then Carlo Ancelotti the first to say that the player can go."

Khedira currently plays for Juventus, and both players have been named in Germany's final 23-man squad to represent the country at Euro 2016.
