Sam Allardyce Won't Be in Attendance at Euro 2016 as He Attempts to Revamp His Sunderland Squad

Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce has revealed on Talksport's Weekend Sports Breakfast show that he will not be heading over to France to watch the European Championships as he is too busy with securing transfers for his side.

Despite saving the Black Cats from relegation last season, Allardyce will be hoping for a stronger campaign in the upcoming Premier League season and has admitted that he is already working hard trying to strengthen his team.

"I'll be watching [Euro 2016] on the TV,"? he said.

"I'm not actually going out there. I'm busy trying to improve the [Sunderland] squad."

A big summer ahead is expected and with Big Sam's expiring contract next summer, the fan's favourite gaffer will be hoping for a chance to further impress his bosses in order to secure a long term deal.

"The end of the season was a great relief for us all at Sunderland. My job now is to strengthen the squad as much as possible to make sure we're not fighting relegation again."?

Allardyce's January signings, acquired from France, Lamine Kone and Wahbi Khazri played a particularly crucial role in retaining their place in the division, proving a good bit of business by both Big Sam and the Black Cats.
