Saints Close to Sealing £11m Nathan Redmond Signing

Southampton are close to agreeing an £11m deal for Norwich winger Nathan Redmond, according to the "?Mirror.

Talks have reached an advanced stage, and although Norwich are eager to hold on to one of their most prized assets, Redmond is keen on a return to the Premier League after Norwich failed to stay in England's top division this year.

Stoke and West Brom were also thought to be interested in Redmond, 22, but Southampton now appear to be in pole position to sign the winger, and could complete the signing once Redmond returns from his holiday to complete a medical.

The England U21 star impressed during the 2015-16 season, scoring six goals and providing three assists as Norwich finished 19th, five points behind 17th placed Sunderland.

He previously came through the ranks at Birmingham City, his hometown club, and moved to Norwich in 2013 after making 62 appearances for the Blues, scoring seven goals.

It could signal the departure of Saints winger Sadio Mane, who has frequently been linked with a move away from Southampton, with the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Spurs all said to be interested in the Senegalese international. With Ronald Koeman's departure to Everton, Mane's future at St. Mary's remains unclear, as he wants to move to a bigger club.

Mane, 24, was an integral part of Southampton's successful season, scoring 11 goals and creating six assists as the Saints recorded their highest ever points total (63) and their highest ever league finish of sixth.
