Ryan Alebiosu Set for Possible Return in Nigeria vs Egypt Third-Place Clash

Super Eagles left-back Ryan Alebiosu could feature for Nigeria in Saturday’s AFCON 2025 third-place playoff against Egypt after recovering from a leg injury, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.

Alebiosu made his tournament debut in Nigeria’s Group C clash with Uganda, playing the full 90 minutes. Unfortunately, he suffered a deep cut to his right leg during that match, which had initially sidelined him and raised concerns that he could be out for a month.

The Blackburn Rovers defender has now returned to full training and expressed optimism about getting some minutes against the Pharaohs. “I’m good,” Alebiosu told reporters during Friday’s session. “The physio has been building me up for two, three weeks, everything is good now, and I’m back on the pitch for today’s session, hopefully to build myself up and get some minutes tomorrow at least.”

His potential inclusion adds depth and versatility to Nigeria’s squad as they aim to secure a podium finish in Morocco.
