"?Newly appointed Everton manager Ronaldo Koeman is determined to keep hold of star players Romelu Lukaku and John Stones this summer.
Lukaku has made it clear on numerous occasions that he wants to play for a club in the Champions League and has been linked with a move to some of the biggest sides in Europe including Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich.
Facing the media for the first time as Everton manager, Koeman told Sky Sports: "I haven't spoken to Romelu. From this moment, I'm working for Everton and I will talk to several players. Lukaku is a key player, a goalscorer, you don't want to lose your best players. If I can do something about that, I will.
"I like to help everybody and sometimes you have something more, he (Stones) plays where I played. There will be good support for the boy. First I would like to talk to him personally, ask what his feeling is and make conclusions."
Despite not qualifying for the Champions League, rumours also suggest that Lukaku is willing to return back to Chelsea with the Belgium international believing he has unfinished business with the West London club.
Meanwhile John Stones, who was denied a move to Chelsea in 2015, could be the subject of a bidding war between both Manchester City and Manchester United.
Koeman has also refused to rule out signing players from former club Southampton.
"If we realise we need better players or players in other positions, we will work about that. We have a budget. I don't know [if I am going to try and sign a Southampton player]. It's difficult. I like most of the players but maybe it's best we don't make that fight today."
